Approved CPD providers

CPD courses must be conducted by CEA-approved providers. Major providers include:

  • RealCentre
  • ProNex Academy
  • OrangeTee Academy
  • Institute of Estate Agents Singapore (IEA)
  • Real Estate Developers' Association of Singapore (REDAS) academy
  • NUS School of Continuing & Lifelong Education (selected courses)
  • NTUC LearningHub (selected courses)

The complete approved-provider list is on the CEA website.

How CPD is recorded

  1. Register and pay for the CPD course at the approved provider.
  2. Attend the course (in-person or live online) — attendance is verified.
  3. Provider uploads attendance to the CEA system within 1–2 weeks.
  4. You can verify your CPD record via the CEA portal.
  5. Before annual renewal, ensure both core (4 hrs) and professional competence (2 hrs) are met.

Non-compliance consequences

  • RES registration not renewed for the following year.
  • Cannot practise as an RES until compliant.
  • Catch-up CPD may be allowed in some cases with CEA approval.
  • Repeat non-compliance may trigger disciplinary action.
  • Listed RESs may be reassigned by their EA to non-active roles until compliant.

Tips for completing CPD

  • Do CPD early in the year — avoid year-end rush.
  • Pick courses that match your specialisation (HDB, prime, commercial) for genuine learning.
  • Use online CPD for flexibility; verify it counts for your category.
  • Keep certificates / receipts in case of CEA audit.
  • Your EA may organise group CPD — usually at discounted rates.

Frequently asked questions

What are the CPD requirements for an RES in Singapore?

Each RES must complete a prescribed number of CPD hours annually to renew registration. Currently 6 hours per CPD cycle: 4 hours of core CPD (covering CEA-prescribed topics like CEPCC, PMLPFTF, regulatory updates) and 2 hours of professional competence CPD (covering broader real-estate skills and knowledge). The exact mix is subject to CEA guidelines and may be revised.

What counts as a CPD hour?

Attending a CEA-approved CPD course at an accredited provider counts hour-for-hour. CEA-approved providers include RealCentre, ProNex, OrangeTee Academy, IIRECF, and several others. Online CPD courses are accepted within prescribed limits. Self-study generally does not count. RES exam preparation does not count as CPD.

What happens if I don't meet my CPD hours?

Your RES registration will not be renewed for the following year. You cannot practise as an RES until you have completed the required hours and CEA approves the renewal. Catch-up CPD may be allowed in some cases; severe non-compliance may attract disciplinary action.

How do I track and submit my CPD?

CPD providers upload your attendance directly to the CEA system within a few days of the course. Log in to your CEA portal account to see your current CPD record. Your EA also tracks CPD for its RES. Before annual renewal (typically December), verify that all required hours are recorded.

Do KEOs and EA principals also need CPD?

Yes. KEOs and EA principals have their own CPD requirements, generally aligned with or exceeding RES requirements, with additional management and compliance content. The exact breakdown is set by CEA and may exceed the RES baseline.
